I have heard this music before,
saith the body.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

In an increasingly complex world, we are called to develop flexibility, resilience and creative responsibility, while simultaneously acknowledging and serving our relationship to the whole.

I support clients who find themselves on the edge of transformation, be that in relationships, career, sexuality, artistic practice, trauma recovery, intergenerational legacy or spirituality. I also work with clients wishing to deepen their experience of body and connect in new ways with their physicality.

I draw on several modalities in my work. I use an attachment-informed approach that draws on modalities that are "bottom up" (somatic awareness, body-centred) and "top down" (transpersonal, psychoeducational and cognitive), as well as Expressive Arts and Systemic Family Constellations. With this integrative approach, I hope to provide a responsive and deeply sensitive container for our work together. In addition to this, I offer neurobiological trauma work to my clients when appropriate.

Note: I am happy to provide my services to clients across Canada in the form of online video calls or phone sessions. I use a PHIPA compliant host for our video sessions that does not require you to download a program or app. For clients in BC, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Newfoundland, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, I offer my full range of therapeutic services. For clients in Ontario, New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia, I offer Coaching and Counselling (Registered Clinical Counsellor). Please inquire as to what this means for our work together.

SOMATIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

Through our bodies, we reveal our patterns - emotional, psychological, relational, spiritual, creative, and in life.

In my own growth and healing, I have explored many different body-based modalities. For reasons I may only ever partially know, my explorations (some from necessity and some from curiosity and desire to learn) have centred so directly on the body. From here, grew a passion to train in these modalities and work with others.

Our bodies are honest. By turning our attention to our direct experience of body, we can learn its language, a way of knowing that is vaster than the bookmarks of attenuated memory. The body connects us to the richness of experience personally, transgenerationally, and collectively.

I have been a student of the Hakomi Method since 2022, and bring over 10 years of body-based exploration and training to my somatic sessions with clients.

ARTS-BASED PSYCHOTHERAPY

The Arts are a primal language that allow us to connect in a full-spectrum way with our capacity to heal, make-meaning and grow.

I strive to bring a relational understanding of the creative process to my sessions, which are also informed by my own healing/growth journey of many years and my professional practice as a visual artist. It is not necessary for clients to have prior skill or experience in the arts to engage in arts-based sessions.

PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH AN EMPHASIS ON SEX AND INTIMACY COACHING

In many ways, our relationship with our sexual expression and eroticism is connected to our very life vitality. My work with individuals and clients is informed by training in The Erotic Blueprints, somatic psychotherapy and other sexuality practices.

I offer sessions for individuals and couples as well as in a group education format. For couples, I find intensives or longer sessions are better to gain traction in this work. Please see below for pricing.

If you have any questions, please contact me to schedule a complementary conversation where we can discuss our work together.

NEUROBIOLOGY FOR TRAUMA RESOLUTION AND OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE

Observed Experiential Integration (OEI) is a neurobiological modality developed by Audrey Cook and Dr. Rick Bradshaw that integrates the visual pathways and both of the brain hemispheres to reduce anxiety and trauma. It incorporates elements of Focusing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Educational Kinesiology to help the brain process traumatic experiences and integrate, allowing information to easily travel through the sensory processors and emotional processors again.

I use OEI in combination with the other therapeutic approaches, in addition to as a stand-alone therapy. It is effective with both individuals and couples. OEI has also been applied in the context of high performance coaching, and I offer this to musicians, artists, athletes, bodybuilders and other professionals who would like a neurobiological approach to removing impediments to high performance and success.

I am listed as an Occupationally Aware Clinician through First Responder Health for work with front-line workers and public safety personnel.
